Four
Directions Earthwork, Albany,

The four directions gets its name
from the fact that one walks exactly the same number of steps in each
of the four directions (that one can walk in the design) through one cycle
of this circular labyrinth. The design is located in the front yard of
a house in Albany. It is notable that a design with some detail could
fit in a 16 by 20 foot space. The sides of the mounds are 16 inch high
rock walls, the path contains three inch thick flagstone, and the mounds
were planted with a variety of plants and a red fescue. There are at least
three distinct micro-environments.
